On September 24, 2011 the Clackamas River Water Providers held a tour of the Upper Clackamas Watershed for elected officials from CRWP agencies and for citizens in CPO's and Neighborhood Associations in the CRWP service area.  The purpose of this tour was to connect our citizens and policy makers with the watershed where their drinking water comes from and introduce them to some of the CRWP partners and stakeholders in the watershed.  A total of 42 people participated in the tour.

The tour included presentations by the USFS, Portland General Electric and the City of Estacada, and stoped at USFS Estacada office, the Timber Lake Job Corp Center, the Three Lynx power house and community, and the City of Estacada water and wastewater facilities.  Participants learned about the history behind the tour stops, as well as about our stakeholders watershed and water quality management practices.

Next year the Tour will focus on the lowwer part of the Clackamas watershed.  To find out more about how the CRWP is working to protect its source water and works with stakeholders please see the CRWP Annual Report for FY 2010-11 and the CRWP Drinking Water Protection Plan which outline long term source water protection strategies.
